Nishijin-ori

Nishijin-ori refers to a collective term for figured textiles produced in the Nishijin district of Kyoto. Characterized by small-batch, multi-variety production, these fabrics are woven using pre-dyed silk threads to create intricate patterns.
Known for their rich colors, luxurious appearance, and three-dimensional texture, Nishijin textiles are traditionally used for kimono obi belts and are also widely applied to wallets, accessories, home textiles, ties, and bags.
In 1976 (Showa 51), Nishijin-ori was designated as a Traditional Craft of Japan.

Kinran is a luxurious textile woven with gold threads or gold foil. Fabrics produced using this technique—often referred to as gold brocade—are among the most opulent materials in Japan. Their brilliant gold patterns are considered some of the most exquisite among all textiles.
